If President Obama was Pro-Life, this speech may have meant something great.
He isn’t. It didn’t. And it doesn’t.
During press conferences following the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, President Obama compassionately relayed his sadness about this senseless and tragic event. Coincidentally, these comments are applicable to the pro-life movement, and the tragedy of abortion in across the country.
“This is our first task – caring for our children. If we don’t get that right, we don’t get anything right. That’s how, as a society, we will be judged. And by that measure, can we honestly say that we are doing enough to keep our children, all of them, safe from harm?
“Ive been reflecting on this the past few days, and if we are honest with ourselves, the answer is ‘no’.” - Barack Obama
I agree, Mr. President. We, as a society, and you as a national leader, will be judged on how we protect our children. And we, as a society, and you as a national leader, have murdered or supported the murder of 55 million of our citizens before they were ever born.
It is well beyond our power to bring back those who have been so brutally “disposed of”. It is well within our power to prevent it from happening further.
And that is the power that we must exercise NOW, or forever live with the judgement to befall us.
